Suspense and Shock

Suspence

Suspense has two different sides to it , it can be an anxiety or apprehension results from a uncertien , undecided  or mysterious situation. For example in the birds when the birds keep increasing slowly behind Melaine in the playground.

Another type of  suspence is a pleasurable excitement and anticipation regarding an outcome. For example in north by north west when he meets Eve and we wonder wether or not they will become romantically involved , or wether they were going to kiss or not.

Shock

Shock is soemthing that jars the mind or emotion as if with a sudden unexpected blow , that causes someone to feel susprised. For example when Eve unexpectadely shoots Mr Thornhill , the audience is not expecting it therefore they are shocked.
